Paris Pink Heart Pattern

Hi Friends! How are you? Fall is my favorite time of year in New England. As the weather is turning colder, I've been busy stitching and designing new patterns for you. My Paris Pink Heart is a sweet pattern to stitch with silk on white linen. The pink silk floss is made by the Needlepoint Inc Company. The floss I chose for this project is bright pink and just gorgeous. The low light of the winter-sun doesn't quite capture the beauty of this bright pink floss in some of the photos. The photo (directly below with the teacup) shows a more accurate color of the pink floss. But as you can see, the pattern looks pretty with light or bright pink floss.  

  

Wintertime means lots of cozy stitching under comfy quilts. Cross stitching calms my soul. A lazy weekend morning with French-press coffee is even better when I know there's something special in my hoop. Silk is my favorite floss to stitch with because it's elegant and beautiful.

I often stitch while watching movies. Have you seen The Beguiled (2017) directed by Sofia Coppola and starring Nicole Kidman and Kirsten Dunst? Onmigosh, it's like viewing a painting. The costumes and set design are full of French-style-southern-gorgeousness. I've watched it many times while stitching up this heart. The movie provided me with endless inspiration for a few more designs too. I plan to offer an alphabet for monogramming soon. Once this heart is back from the frame shop, I'll show it to you. Pattern Description:

This pretty heart is inspired by vintage French linens. The pattern is stitched with pink silk floss (or DMC Embroidery Floss) on white linen. You may wish to stitch this heart in your favorite colors. White floss on colored linen is also a nice choice.

The finished size of the heart is approximately 7.5 x 6.5 inches

Tea and Stitching

When I want to ease into my mornings, I choose a hot cuppa tea, quiet prayer and gentle stitching. Today, the windows are wide open. I did a bit of cleaning. There's a cool breeze coming off the ocean. Since my home is small, tidying up is easy. The only thing I long for is hardwood floors. Maybe someday. I'll probably never give up my love of real wood floors and French chandeliers.

Pastel Patterns

I love the gentle pastel colors of these patterns. I enjoyed stitching them while watching movies or binge-watching my favorite Netflix shows. One color makes them blissfully meditative to work. Madame Butterfly Counted Cross Stitch Pattern

Madame Butterfly is a breeze to stitch. Orchid silk on linen is a lovely combination. There are also many other color combinations that work with this pattern.

The chart comes with a heart to stitch above the butterly. But, I embellished it with a pink crystal charm. The pattern, charm and beading needles are available in my shop. Cross stitch can be sincere and elegant. Simple is often best. I love to pair embroideries with beautiful paintings.

This pretty pattern of butterflies, roses and hearts is stitched with orchid silk on natural linen. It would look striking done with red silk too. It's meditative to work because it uses one color; Zen-stitching at its best.

Natural Linen Monogram

This simple French monogram is from a booklet called ABC aux Ancolies.  The booklet is made up of clear patterns/charts that are easy to stitch. It's from a French company called Rouge du Rhin. Click here to go to their website and purchase it. They ship to the USA. There are many wonderful cross stitch charts and kits created by this company. 

My First French Monogram

This is the first monogram I ever stitched. It's a French pattern called Pour Manon. Rouge du Rhin is the manufacturer. Their website is in French and English. Click here to go to there. I stitched it with an "M" for my devotion to The Blessed Virgin Mary. But it would make a wonderful wedding monogram too. 

An alphabet of letters is provided with the pattern to personalize it.  I stitched it with two strands of white Splendor Silk Floss on 32 count very pale blue linen. The linen was purchased at The Sampler Needlework Shop in historic, Plymouth MA. I enjoyed stitching this piece. The chart was easy to read and using only one color of thread was Zen stitching. Everyday, I admire its scrolls, flourishes, quiet elegance and graceful beauty.
